What do you think is one thing you want to do but you are not able to start? Is it because you keep giving yourself excuses that you don’t have time to do it or that you would not succeed even if you tried.
The worst thing is we want to do things but we keep procrastinating because of a lack of willpower to start and even if we start the hardest part is to have enough patience to see the results.
There are days where you will feel super low and would almost come to quit the thing you started so passionately but those are the days that matter.
If there were a magic potion to build habits, it would be a different world. The only thing close to magic is once you understand the power of grit and discipline.
To feel consistently pumped is the hardest task I have ever come across, I have been going gym for the last 7 years and most people are astonished by the fact that my discipline has been amazing.
I have no idea about how I managed to continue the only thing I know is I just did not give up on myself even if nothing was improving.
After years of training now people feel that I am passionate about gymming but to be honest I still have the low days just like you have when you start, so why I don’t quit because I have experienced the high of being disciplined that is after months of training or practicing something you see the change in yourself which astonishes you and gives you a different high.
2 things that helped me improve my discipline are very basic things hope they help you as well.

I rate persistence as the most important pillar for improving discipline in your life.

Persistence is a developed state of mind much like grit. It is the hallmark of accomplishment since persistent people push through pain which refers to the setbacks and roadblocks when pursuing a goal.
When you keep on going despite the obstacles in your way your self-belief increases that in itself works as a feedback loop to keep you going.
Behavioral psychologists long believed showing up is a good enough measure towards future success.
I believe that showing up is inadequate since people show up every day to mundane jobs they loathe. Whilst the body is present, their minds are looking forward to the end of the day.
Showing up means being present and engaged with absolute intention and purpose.
Once we are present in the moment we tend to understand things better and we can focus on the task at hand.
Persistent people have this uncanny knack of being lucky because they keep going even when the luck is not on their side, what makes them keep going is that they have seen what happens when you don’t give up and things start changing towards the positive direction.
Getting yourself to focus on the right things is the hardest we can be easily distracted by our favorite mobile device.
The number one enemy of focus is the infinite scrolling of social media apps. Of course, we cannot eliminate the internet but sure we can set aside time for the activities which require focus like reading.
The way you can start improving your focus is by time-boxing yourself which means just assign a time to a task or make it a recurring thing in your schedule.
I keep reading 20 pages before going to bed as a task before I sleep and the result of making it a habit has been great my focus has increased which has helped me in reading at least 20 books in two years.
Distractions will pop up throughout the day; “emergencies” and “this has to be done now” will always be knocking at our door. Discipline and FOCUS are what will help you determine whether or not you’re going to get distracted, or you’re going to stay on your productive path.

The feeling of flow which you get once you start focusing on the task is magical. I have experienced that feeling while working out, coding, and reading trust me hours pass like seconds.
Knowing how great it feels to have a productive day, commit to discipline and FOCUS.
